where do i start?
610t arrived yesterday, every thing fine this morning the english voice disappeared, spoke to garmin they sent me a file every thing back to normal.
while on he phone to garmin they suggested doing a software upgrade via there web updater.
i did this and my map info has gone, phoned garmin again they basically said the unit is faulty,ok so now having bought thru clearance bargains on ebay garmin will not warranty the item.
so i have to send back to the ebay shop, which will involve a bit of hassle but it will work out.
i dont really think it is a faulty unit,i think its a software problem.
i have a backup of the garmin from new,i assume i can reinstall/copy this but the problem will come back when i update the unit software.
your opinions please,i really could do without all the hassle sending it back only for them to send it back if there is nothing wrong with it.
i really need help here guys.
thanks tips.......... |

If you want to remove the risk of it happening again, simply go to the Garmin website and you can download the latest firmware for your chosen device. Once you have applied that, then use WebUpdater to look for further, minor updates that might equally be important to you. _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums. |

thanks for the replies.
i have spoken to garmin again and they are going to replace the unit direct from themselves.
the company i bought from will only talk via email they say they will replace it but i have concerns as one of the girls at garmin said there had been a dodgy batch, although when i spoke to others at garmin they had not heard about this batch problem.
garmin also said today i would be wasting my time copying the back up back onto the unit as this would not work with my problem.
so now after less than 24hrs use its going back
thanks again for the advice guys. |
