It's weird, I don't seem to get this problem.
In THIS POST 'HummerUK' was saying something similar where he couldn't navigate to a Favourite that was off-road, but he COULD if he saved it as a POI instead. (he had an additional problem of a location actually crashing his machine!).

But in the experiments I tried (using his example), it all worked fine for me...

I wrote:
assuming "Bo Peep Car Park" is at the very end of "Bo Peep Bostal" (I found it by Googling and got this link http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/Southdowns/site.asp?PageId=26&SiteId=43&c=2
which led me to this MultiMap page ...

...then I have no trouble saving that spot as either a Favourite or a POI and then setting the TT720 to find a route (although if I run a demo of the route, it announces I've reached my destination at the end of BoPeep Road as the Bostal is marked as dotted (non-navigable?) on the v7.05 maps even though the demo does continue to the end of the Bostal...)

I also tried saving a point due south off the end of that road (at N 50.82459, E 0.11975) in the middle of a field. Again, whether it was saved as a POI or a Favourite, the unit had no problem plotting a route to it as above.

Can you give an example of where it won't work for you (Lat, Long co-ordinates if possible please - (you can read them off the browse map page if you enable them with the "options: button on the same screen))

Does it say "No route found"?
If so a work-around is to put that location in as a "Point Of Interest" instead.

When you are next at that location do the following...

1. "Change prefences"
2. "Manage POIs"
3. "Add POI Category"
4. Enter a name e.g. "Favorites" and pick a marker for it to display on the map.

Now to save your position in that POI category.
1. "Add POI"
2. Select your category from the list "Favorites"
3. Press arrow to get to page 2 of icons and select "GPS Position"
4. Enter name for your location as required
5. Enter phone number or press ok

Job done Smile

You should be able to navigate to this spot even when off the quality TomTom maps

Version 6.xxx had no such problem. Shame.

Have yet to test the phone functionality via bluetooth. But then Nokia's latest update for the N95 pretty much broke that anyway...

no need to be at the location, you can do it anytime, by just selecting from "favourite" at step 3 Smile

Another website claims these "may" be the changes...

So no claims that this update should have helped fix the bluetooth buzz?

I assume thats still in the pipeline or they are still in denial like the virus issue on the 910.

I dunno. I've got no "inside" knowledge, only what I read on the forums and find out myself.

Put FW 7.21 onto my 720.

Caused some really wierd routing and also stopped recognising the streets that i reversed traffic flow on.
Reverted to 7.00 and everythings back to normal no worries.

Are you sure it didn't just switch off your preferences for using Mapshare corrections?

Any examples you can give?

Sorry about the wait just got back off nights.

The routing problem was from Portsmouth to Mansfield. normally it would go M27 / M3 / A34 / M40 / A43 / M1.
instead it routed A3 / M25 / M1.
As i wanted to travel via the A34 i put a travel via into the routing. It then took me off of the A34 and up the A338 which is a single carriageway with 30 mph speed cameras then back onto the A34. A bit strange as i only use fastest route.

When i got home i prepared a rout from Livingston to Saint James Place in Edinburgh. As you travel along the A8 Shandwick Place you turn left down South Charlotte st. The v705.1480 mapping shows the last few yards as one way the same as Princes st. This is wrong as it is still two way untill it meets Charlott st which is then a left only turn.
I had altered this to allow for correct routing but was supprised to see that even though Shandwick Place was shown as two way the directions reverted back to its original routing via Manor Place. While this may be ok for car drivers i am a HGV driver and can't negotiate the tight turns around Randolph Crescent.
No way would it route me the way i wanted untill i removed the 7.21 FW.

Because of my job i've opened up some town centre streets to allow me to drive to my destinations, and i don't allow the TomTom to join mapshare as they are restricted access only, so i don't think i downloaded any modifycations to cause these problems.

Have a look at A34 next to Drayton (south of Abingdon in Oxfordshire).
There are 3 short sections blocked northbound from "TT Verified" Mapshare update.
When I came past them yesterday there was plenty of traffic going north!
Just redefine them as Open and the A34 becomes usable again.
Now try to explain this to all the traffic from Southampton Docks using TT to go to Birmingham and beyond...

So that's why it didn't try to route me up the A34 last week. TT really need to get a grip of this. Did anyone see the TT ONE v3 advert on QVC or somewhere last night? Their official representative was full of the joys of MapShare!!
