Corrupted download? Try deleting from TT and downloading again? |

Does Home show the map when you go to "show contents of my device"? |

When anything (maps, poi, etc.) is dl from the web site, it first goes to a folder designated in TomTom home menu: Preferences/File Locations/ Download.
Check there. Maybe, just maybe, the new map got dl properly but just isn't getting installed on the unit.
Worth a shot....maybe. |

This is a dilemma, because TomTom latestmap page says:
- In the 'File' menu click 'Use Latest Map Guarantee'. NOTE: if this option is not shown then your device already has the latest map.
If you have the lastest map, there should not be the menu choice at all, because you have the choice, you doesn't have the lastest map. But when you check you have the latest. Ok, the Home is a higgledy-piggledy software.
I have waited over a week (from 2nd Nov) a working solution, but nothing since 5th Nov. |

I've just sent an e mail to tom tom and it says you will receive a reply in 48 hours. However i doubt if i will get anything worth while as it looks like no one is getting any decent answers from Tom Tom.
The only reason i can think of they may be delaying this is their servers cannot handle so many users downloading new maps all together. |

Two issues here: 1) You MUST have version 7.210 of TTHome software installed to make the 'map guarantee' work. That I know. 2) Somewhere. I think, I saw the automatic update of newest map works only for 520's and 720's at this moment. And the third of the two issues ( ), somewhere I read that TT will be providing everybody with the version 7.10 of the map. Wasn't clear if for all countries or not ... |

The latest version of HOME that I know of is version 2.1.2.121.
Version 7 is software for the TT units themselves. |

I've just received this reply from TomTom:
Dear ,
May we apologise for the delay in responding to your query.
Please be aware that you will require a newer application version to use 7.10 maps. We expect that this version will be made available later this week.
We appreciate your patience with this matter.
With Best Regards
The TomTom Customer Support Team
For me 7.10 maps became selectable in 'Switch map' after I downloaded App 7.210 last week. _________________ Anita

hiya dont know if anyone can help me or not?? ive got a 510 running the latest update with a 2gb sd card, i bought the updated map of western europe, downloaded it and after ive finished downloading it it comes up with internal server error and thats it. when i go back to up date the map it says i need to download it again. i checkedthe ownload file and ive now downloaded it twice and have the folowing files.
activation_map_50000 (a zip file)
map9020 (picture icon)
map9020-1
Western_Europe (a zip file)
is there anyway of manually installing this now as i really dont want to download nearly 2 gb again!. the only thing i did whe downloading it was to delete the old maps fom the sd card (i do have a back up though) as it said there wsnt enough space.
thanks

I wouldn't risk it. If it gives you that sort of message, I'd think the download wouldn't be complete in some way.... |

I've been getting the same messages as everyone else. looks like a standard cut & paste answer...
In the meantime, waiting for the end of the week and TT to sort out their map upgrade, I have an RMA because of the crap handsfree sound quality... Plus this week the sound from the device seems to be going bad... It sounds like the internal speaker is working it's way loose and vibrating with the voices...
Anyone know what Comet's policy is for 6 week old devices? Will they send away, or just replace?
