I was about to ask what model, then I spotted the 950T as the post subject.
What version software has it got and did you get a dvd with it? _________________ Mike

I need to sell my X970-T New Edition which has been updated with the latest mapping and latest available POIs - Safety Cameras etc. but am reluctant to put it up for sale if the buyer cannot re-register it and use Content Manager etc to keep it updated. It works perfectly but reluctantly I have a need (?) to raise some money and I will keep the older of my GPS units.
Could anyone tell me what the practice it and if I can assure the buyer that he/she will get full ownership rights.
Thanks. _________________ Gee-Pee

I can't find anything specific on VM site about selling. If you are selling your unit on ebay, for instance, I don't think you need to be too concerned. When I sold mine, I made sure that I gave the buyer ALL the documentation I had including the guarantee and invoice.
My experience was, both with the VM and an earlier Garmin, that the buyers (both of whom were new to satnavs anyway) seemed not to be interested in re-registering - they are both still registered to me after a considerable time - nearly 2 years for the Garmin (I haven't got around to cancelling them, but also wanted to be aware if Garmin/VM raised any issues).
So I really don't think you should worry overmuch - just don't make a big issue of the re-registering opportunities. I am sure that VM, like Garmin, will handle ownership transfers perfectly ok (while they are still around to do so!) _________________ David

Thanks David. I just thought that if re-registration was possible that it would be a plus in selling it. I'll take your advice. _________________ Gee-Pee

Yes - though I did still describe the VM site's capabilities with cameras, POIs etc in my ad, but without being specific as to "how best" to utilise them. That is after all in the public domain (as they say). _________________ David
