Hi,

Is there a way to show standard built in POIs (eg gas stations) on the map of a C550 whilst driving? I can only find a find to have a list of the POIs in the neighbourhood with the distance and the direction, but not on the map?
If not, is there any Garmin device that can do this?

Eddy

Certainly the nuvi 3xx and 6xx can do this - but only if you are zoomed in close enough. On my 660 they are shown when zoomed in to around 300ft scale on the 3D driving display.

Does the C550 have this ability? Try zooming in whne in an area with known pre-installed POIs.

The zoom level is chosen automatically whilst driving, isn't it? Does it mean that one need to zoom in extra whilst one is driving? It's a bit dangerous, isn't it? One doesn't know if there is a POI in the neighborhood and that's just the purpose of POIs to my feeling, showing things one doesn't know.
How does one show the POIs one need (eg only gas stations)?

On my 660 the zoom stays where I put it Smile To be honest though I have it set close in for most journeys. I never have to touch the unit whilst driving unless I want to see/hear the next set of directions.

Ok, I will try to zoom in and see what happens. I hope that I don't need to zoom in that extensively that I only see things from the close neighbourhood and thus can see on my own if I look outside.

But than the question remains on how the choose the POIs I want to show, eg only gas stations.
