Smile Hi there. I am quite new to this and have only just registered but have been reading the forums over the past few days and may be able to help.

I also have a GNAV10 with destinator OP and have managed to successfully get all speed cameras on it with the help of another member in another thread. I will try and reiterate what to do.

i) First you need to install your Destinator software to your pc/laptop using CD1 that came with your GNAV10.

ii) You also need to install Microsoft Active sync. If, like me, you did not get the cd for this in your pack you can download and install Active sync version 4.1 from the microsoft website for free.

iii) Download the speed camera database from pocket gps world website on this link: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras.php

Save this to a place on your desktop for easy finding. Create a new folder and unzip it in there.

iv) Now Connect your GNAV10 to the PC via usb (make sure the memory card is in the sat nav). Active sync should automatically start up, click no to sign on as a guest.

v) Start the Destinator console sofware program from your Start/All programs list on the PC. Once started, you see a list of maps on the left, check the UK one. You should now see the favourites importer is highlighted, click this and you will get a box to find input.

Browse for the new folder with the unzipped files you downloaded earlier. You see a bunch of folders, go into single file version then Csv file, then destinator 3 and you will see one file named "pocketgps_uk_sc.csv". Double click this file to select it for the input.

Still in destinator console software, click convert, this takes a few seconds, then click download.

vi) You should now have the speed camera database in your favourites. On the GNAV10 go into your favourites click on the pocket gps catergory and check the box next to it. This will highlight all these cameras on your map. With this catergory still highlighted select tools and select edit. This will allow you to change the catergory name and image (there should be an image of a camera with a green clock below it, I use this one). Now click save to save any changes. Go back to tools and select settings this time. This will alow you to set the alert distances, check the boxes and change as required and save.

vii) With the speed camera catergory selected if you clik on items in the top right corner it will list all the cameras. You can delete individual ones if not required (eg. if there is no longer a camera or you don't travel there). However there are close to 8000 cameras listed.

Unfortunatley when you set the alert distance settings, they will apply to everything listed in any catergory in your favourites. I do not know if there is a way to change this.

Also, when your at the distance specified for the alert it will say favourites alert. I believe there is a way to change this to "Warning, Gatso ahead" and also get the warning text on the screen changed. I have not figured out how to do this yet and would appreciate it if you could post back if you find out and Iwill do likewise.

Even when the warning voice and text are changed, you will get the same for everthing in favourites. Eg. approching macdonalds which is in your favourites you will here, "warning, gatso ahead".

Anyway, I hope this is a help to you. I know how frustrating it gets when you can't quite figure these things out.

Hi, can anyone help?
I have a GNAV10, the screen graphics are working perfectly but I can only see them if I hold my nav in a certain way to catch the light, for some unknown reason the screen is not lit up, if I was in the dark I would have no chance at all of seeing the screen but I can hear the female voice chatting away like she does, I've checked the backlight settings and there on full but still the screen is not lit up like it should.
Is there any way to rectify this?

thanks Pvt0357
