This may already be somewhere on the forum but I am having difficulty loading North American Maps onto my TomTom 700.

Going to the States on Monday and really want SatNav with me as I am driving around a lot.

Does anybody know how to do this or where I can find out?

Thanks

In what way are you having difficulty?

Are you getting error messages, or not able to do something?

We'll need a bit more info to get you up and running.

Where are you getting the North American map folder from? A legitimate install would come on CD/DVD?

It is on a DVD but it does not install it'self and the Tom Tom does not have enough memory to hold the Western Europe and North American maps at the same time..

You would normally use HOME to Install the Maps. I don't think it is just a case of Drag and Drop from the Disc.

Odd, I have both sets of maps at once installed on my TT Go 700. 4gb of space is plenty, no?
It may be that it needs a software update however. As the latest maps dont work without the latest software. At least they didnt here anyway.
While im here.. I installed them manually. No home software. Worked a treat.

Odd indeed. Are we talking about the same device. The 700 came with a 1.7GB Hard Drive, assuming that there are no country specific differences.

Do you mean the 710?
