Well here I am on my second 720 - the 1st one is now in a bin in Amsterdam somewhere I expect.

Of course thanks to TT's obesssion with security I now can't use my Traffic subscription until they accept and register my device code change. That shouldn't be hard I thought, especially since according to the forums here they have had quite a few to replace ... silly me - forgot this is 'TT The Company That Likes to Make a Mountain out of a Molehill'

Anyway I did the support questions procedure through the TT website and they replied with an obviously standard reply telling me what to do (send new device code with copy of proof of replacement). So I was pretty damned annoyed to then get the question updated from TT telling me that this is beyond their normal support people and has to be escalated to their 'secondary' support.

What a load of tosh - clearly a ruse to buy time while they deal with the many complaints about their less than perfect x20's and the absolutlely abysmal TTHome 2.0 software.

It took me 10 days to get Traffic back working with emails back and forwards to TT support.

Just hoping I don't need to replace this one, as the battery life seems very poor.
Less than half the 4 hours that some people claim to get.

Are you sure you are fully charging the device up? - connecting it to a USB port and leaving it overnight is no sure fire way the device will remain powered and charge up as a PC will go into various states of power save?

If you have a mains powered mini USB charger lead use that and give it a full charge by leaving it connected for at least eight hours, the charge status indicator on the device is not worth relying upon as it will indicate full long before the battery is at full capacity, the green LED will only show the fact that the device is connected to an external power source, it does not mean it is necessarily charging though.

After around eight re-charges the LiPo battery should have reached full potential in terms of charge capacity, at this point it should offer over four hours usage - Mike

I noticed that when connected to the PC and 720 is in normal mode, it only actually says it's charging randomly every so often, but when connected in the car supply the 720 always says it's charging.

I will leave the 720 charging and switched off overnight, and then maybe try a mains charger.
