Does anyone know if there is such thing as a recovery cd for the medion gopal 205 that would restore the file system to a basic working order.I think this would be a good idea not just for the gopal but all sat-navs.It is a shame they cant put in a protected partition, like you know when you buy a comp from the shops most dont supply an xp cd they just give you a recovery disk which will activate a small partition so you can reinstall windows. At least that way people like me who delete the contents of the "flash disk folder" can eventually get there equptment to work again.I am at the moment just left with a deep 70 pound hole in my pocket and no working sat-nav.If i ever get this working again i will most definately back it up,that aside any one knoew where i can buy a cheap sat-nav Smile

The Medion comes with all data required to do a full reinstall.
I assume that you bought this new?
Daft question, why did you delete your flash disc?...without backing it up first??
Go to page 52...it'll take you thorugh the new installation procedure.

Don't panic...if all else fails, take it back to the supplier & get them to replace it. They don't need to know that it's been about with.

Cheers

Hi, thanks for your reply i followed the instructions on page 52 like you said so now when i click on "My Flash Disk" i have 2 folders one called "MapRegions" and another called "INSTALL" inside MY "MapRegions" folder i have 2 files one for great britain north the other "Ireland" and "great britain south"
Now when i click on the other folder inside "My Flash Disk" i have the "INSTALL" folder and inside this one i have another folder called "Installation" and inside this folder i have another folder called "GB"
and inside the "GB" folder i have 3 more folders called "0,1, and 3,"i also have 8 zip folders and an "AutoRunCE " file does this look right to you.
But when i press the little buuton in "RESET"button my sat-nav boots up with the same error message"Please insert the memory card"
Thanks for your help Nige.

I know the square you mean on the bottom right side i had it there before i had my problems. But it is no longer there where it used to be i have the picture of an eye which just gives you the option to change the view.Dont know if it was right or wrong but the data on my speedcamera cd is in a folder called "7" so i moved it in to my shared folder with active sync. But still nothing happens.
Once again thanks for your assistance.
