Sony NV-U50 Map Version?

Hi all - is there a way to identify which maps that you have installed on the system - the U50 arrived as a freebie with a Vaio laptop and I dont want to waste forty odd quid on downloading the updated maps which I may already have installed.

The current software is 1.02 (ancient) and the firmware is 8.31 (recent or not?)

The wisest thing to do is to ditch the original map and install tomtom - you will have a wider variety of maps to use.
Search for the tutorial here on how to install tomtom on the nv-u50.
