I can top that one......
I was once on duty in Edinburgh City Centre during the Edinburgh Festival (which is on now actually). I was approached by an American woman, who asked me about the very large building perched on top the rock. I said "That is Edinburgh Castle. A very interesting building and well worth a visit".
Her reply "It is a wonderful looking building, but why did they build it right in the city centre ?" .......DOH !
I don't want to attack Americans, but they certainly come out with cracking stupidity at times. Perhaps it's because America doesn't have any 'real' history. _________________ Tommo...

Isn't that true, I also heard that they have five legs and when naked run around mountains. _________________ TomTom Go 60

Hope this is clean enough.
An American tourist in London was desperate to take a leak. After a long search he couldn't find any public bathroom to relieve himself. So he went down one of the side streets to take care of business. Just as he was unzipping, a London police officer showed up.
"Look here, old chap, what are you doing?" the officer asked.
"I'm sorry," the American replied, "but I really gotta take a leak."
"You can't do that here," the officer told him. "Look, follow me."
The police officer led him to a beautiful garden with lots of grass, pretty flowers, and manicured hedges. "Here," said the policeman, "whiz away."
The American tourist shrugged, turned, unzipped, and relieved himself on the flowers. "Ahhh," he said in relief. Then turning toward the officer, he said, "This is very nice of you. Is this British courtesy?"
"No," replied the policeman. "It's the French Embassy."

I was in the Cystine Chapel and some American woman was moaning about there not being air conditioning...
...but, best of all, I was once on the London Palladium and this American woman was talking to her friend across the other side of the auditorium making sure we could all hear.
Anyway, she was talking about her husband telling her to meet him at the Tower and she announced that 'she thought he meant Tower Records'
best of all...what about that fool who bought London Bridge thinking he was buying Tower Bridge and now there's an ugly lump of concrete somewhere in Arizona _________________ Andy

Was the best looking stone bridge on the river, used to walk across it daily in the 1960's before it was moved. _________________ TomTom Go 60

Yes, they'd be the first to complain if somebody "amended" the stars and stripes for the sake of tourism _________________ Andy

I voted Yes!
I'd also suggest the use of indicators whilst performing an overtaking move on a dual carriage way/motorway. i.e the indicator remains on until moving back into lane 1 or 2.
I've seen this practice in France ...OR...it could be that certain Franch cars don't have self cancelling indicators...
