Hi Guys
I bought a PocketPC and installed TomTom and got totally hooked :o)

I tried a 910 and loved it so I bought one.

My problem is that I managed to copy all my self created POIs from the PocketPC to my PC but I can't figure out how to get them onto the 910. I have TomTom Home installed but can't get to my POIs on the PC through it.

Several of my POIs are my work locations and many leisure locations so I really would like these on my 910.

Does anyone know how I can get them across, please?

Regards
ChrisB

Quite simply do the reverse of what you did when you copied them to the PC.

Connect the 910 to the PC, and close HOME if it opens, and use Windows Explorer to Copy the OV2 and BMP Files to the Map Folder on the 910.

HOME uses a different method for installing files, involving CAB and TOC Files.

Before disconnecting the 910 use the Safely Remove Hardware Icon, in the Sys Tray, to ensure that the PC has finished writing to the 910.

I hope you have done a Full Backup of the 910. Wink

Hello Richard

You're a star- that worked perfectly.

I hadn't noticed that once switched on the 910 appears as a drive in Explorer.

I originally emailed TT support but they wouldn't help saying they did not support "third party material". I thought they could have been a bit more helpful seeing as these were my personal collection of POIs that I would hate to lose. Rules is rules, I s'pose Confused

One of the first things I did when I got the 910 was to back it up through HOME Surprised

Thanks again for your help, Richard.

Regards

That is NOT a full backup. Use Windows to copy ALL of the contents of the 910. You are currently at risk of losing your TTS!!
