Additional external mic - anything special about them?

I am fed up of transferring my external mic between cars so I want to buy an additional one. The ones on ebay do not appear to be genuine TomTom parts and seem very overpriced.

Is the mic wired in any non-standard way or can I just use a one quid special from Poundland?

It says on the package TomTom Go 500 & 700, so will this fit your SatNav?

I don't know. I "think" the ones on ebay quoted all models so I'd assume yes but I can't access ebay from work to check.

Anyone else know?
