1. Is there any way to reduce the time both the opening and closing splashscreens are displayed on the unit?

2. When I first installed the TT Home 2 software on my computer, both a TomTom Home 2 folder and a TomTom Desktop Suite folder got created in my Programs folder. The Suite folder is empty. Does anyone know what it is for (or, what it was supposed to be for)?

Thanks in advance.

Not that I'm aware of.

You should have a TomTom Home 2 in C:\Program Files, as well as a folder in Documents and settings\Application Data\TomTom\Profiles, and another one in My Documents\TomTom\Home were all the downloaded files, updates etc. are stored, this one is set from within TomTom Home 2 Preferences.

Those are all I have on mine.

Thanks, xda ...

It's the existence of the TomTom Desktop Suite (and its use) that has me stumped.

You can reduce the time to zero, by removing or renaming the files (splashw.bmp and antitheftw.bmp). But you will just be looking at a blank screen for the same length of time! (which to me seems longer!)

Thanks, Andy..

May so seek out another splashscreen, then. Kinda sick looking at the palm tree (or one of the other scenic choices) when I'm freezing here. Laughing

Splashscreen collections:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=27219

http://www.yournav.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3156

http://www.gomo-web.de/

(Be aware, it is possible that there are some "page 3" type pictures on any of these links)

Be aware that lots of these will be for the small screen models, so will need re-sizing for the widescreen 720. Any Windows "Paint"-type program can do that (just open the original splashscreen file first to get the dimensions EXACTLY right and match your new one to that. or it won't work.

Or there is this...
