I posted a question before about logging coordinates as I walked around with TomTom 6.1 and got a reply from philpugh-thank you. He said probably not possible without more software and hardware.
Maybe...
Does anyone know how (if possible) to manually record positions within TomTom ver 6.100 8330? I hope that when we stop somewhere I could just do a few button taps to record the current position and maybe add a name/lable and a time/date stamp.
And I guess my last resort would be to, of course, get the coordinates and record them by hand (boo that idea).
Thanks for helping an extreme noob everybody. |

Could you not add the position as a favourite?
Edit : or POI

To store your current position as a Favourite
Tap screen / Add favourite / Forward arrow / GPS position / Name it.
To store your current position as a POI, you want to make a new POI category first (call it "My places" or whatever)
Tap screen / Change preferences / Forward arrow / Manage POIs / Add POI category / Name it and give it a marker.
Then to store your current position:
Tap screen / Change preferences / Forward arrow / Manage POIs / Add POI / Choose the category / forward arrow / GPS position /Name it .
You can then Navigate to the Favourite or the POI, or to see them on the map you can "Browse map" and "Find" Favourite or POI.
The Lat/Long co-ordinates of the cursor position are then shown in the bottom left corner if you need them.
Finally, another way to achieve the same thing, is to "Browse map" then tap the blue arrow at the top of the zoom bar. That will centre the map on your current position and by tapping the blue cross cursor button you can then enter it as a Favourite or POI in just the same way. |
