Hi Everyone - your assistance please.
I have been trying to help a colleague who has TT6 installed on his mobile. Everything works Ok except for the full postcode search. He is using an I-Mate JAM smartphone.
I have tried the known fix of moving the zip file to My Documents but he is still only able to do the 3 digit postcode search.
Has anyone any further ideas on how to get the full poscode search working please?
Thanks in anticipation

I don't know if the Smartphone is the same as PNDs, but I always thought that the zip Folder, containing the .postal file, should be at the same location as the Map Folder. _________________ Richard

Hi Thanks for the comment. From messages I have seen about problems with the postcode search a solution is to copy the zip file to My Documents if the full search does not work. I think I have seen it on the Tomtom website offered as a solution.
However that didn't work on the Jam and hence asking the question of a wider audience and (hopefully) finding an answer.
I meant to say before that the Jam uses Windows Mobile 2003 and my colleague has TT6 with the v6.75 UK & IE map. It is touchscreen and works exactly the same as normal PDA does.

1/ is he selecting the postcode entry method correctly as vs6 is slightly different? - you need to tap Navigate to/ Address/ Postcode to enter a full postcode.
2/ on vs5 software the dodge was to create an empty folder named tomtom in the root of the memory card, this folder contained nothing but was needed to get the device to find the files, try adding it.
You should not need to put the zip folder in the my documents folder as this is a huge waste of memory on the PDA - Mike |
