Synchronising a Navman iCN 520

Hi, can anyone help me with a synchronising problem? I have installed the SmartST 2005 software on three different computers (one would not install Active sync because it couldn't find the wceusbsh.sys file. I have tried and tried but the PC's refuse to see the Navman. Any ideas?

I understand it won't synch with MS Vista. Could that be it?

No, MS XP with service pack 2.

I have just installed the software on my works computer and it synchronised with no problem. I just don't understand it.

MS broke Activesync backward compatibility sometime after Activesync 3.7, if I remember correctly. Basic file transfers still work but there are random problems with more complicated functionality -- i.e. stuff that iCN connectivity needs and uses.
Check version of Activesync on your computer -- if it's 4+ try finding a computer with older Activesync (Win98 would be a good bet). You could also try downgrading if you don't have any newer WinCE/PocketPC/Windows Mobile devices that require newer Activesync.
