So I pair them nicely and it seems to work.

However, the G GPRS logo remains on screen all the time. Is it downloading all the time (I have it set to 15min updates) and therefore if I went on an hour journey it would charge me for an hour.

Or does it just charge as for the data it downloads.

GPRS is chargable by the data size, it is not time related so even if its connected you shouldn't incur a charge - that said some networks can charge a small fortune for data, check with your provider as to the cost involved before you get hit with a large bill.
I use an inclusive tariff so I never get charged more than a flat rate for GPRS £7,50 PCM is great value because I use the GPRS for heavy internet usage while I am away from the PC.
I usually expect TT Traffic to consume about 100KB per Hour of usage when set to a 15 min update rate, sometimes this can be higher or lower depending upon traffic conditions/ time of day etc - Mike
