Please Help

Hi
Iv just brought a tomtom1 and i am new to all of this. Can anyone tell me how to put the POIs on the Tomtom and how to get them going.

Also when i try and download the POIs i get a message saying
"The compressed (zipped) folder is invaild or corrupted.

Adjacent to the download button is a checkbox labeled "show link" select that and try downloading your selection again.
If you are using the Combine subcats option make sure you select no more than 20 at a time in any main single category, to be honest keep it simple to start with, just a single selection with the show link option checked.

Once you have the download unzip it to reveal the contents and copy the ov2 file (which contains the data) and the bmp file (which contains the icon) to your device using Windows Explorer, put both the ov2 and bmp file into the map folder on the TomTom.

Start the TomTom and go to Change preferences/ manage POI/ Warn when near POI and scroll through the list to locate the POI category you have added, select it and set up a warning.

Once you have the single file added repeat the above but select more than just one category, do not put more than 100 custom POI files on a device running version 6 software, version 7 appears to be restricted to 60 while version 5 has a limit of 39 Custom POI Categories
