just a note on the garmin 660:

Halfords said its the nuts so i bought one (cheaper online place) Tried it, apart from crashing on me (probably fautly unit) - twice found myself looking at entering a no entry road. Experience was enough to put me off Garmin. I did like about Garmin was its small, the trafffic receiver is built in. But prefer something thats reliable. Sent it back now. I had updated it on the garmin site. Thought that might do the trick but it didnt. Dont know if its cos Garmin is a leader in the US, and tomtom in the UK, so tomtom is better for UK mapping?

I've had mine for 2 weeks now with no problems at all...... the only problem I've had is with this site not being ie7 friendly, so I can't download the free POI's..... Would someone with IE6 mind downloading the entire zip file in category order for the Garmin & PMing me.
Thanks

Cliff

There are only 2 companies doing mapping for Sat Nav so probably not that.
I have a Zumo which my friend says looks like the Nuvi he had so I think you must have had a bad example.
As for the download issues try getting yourself Firefox, Microsoft ripped most of the ideas for IE7 from there and it's still a better product.
Oh and no issues with this site.
You can even istall an add on for in compatable sites to run within firefox using IE so it's a win win.

Linked to Autocom by bluetooth and all seems good.
Traffic reception in the central belt of Scotland and hurray NW England seems to be working again. Still a million times better than the Quest 2 it replaces
