Hi pontyslapper and everyone else,
We have a few questions on this satnav?
Do you have to have the radio on to get TMC?
Do you have to download anything to get TMC?
Do you have to select the chanel (classic fm) to hear any traffic management alerts or can you listen to another chanel?
As you can see I am a total novice on satnavs.
We too live in South Wales (Llantrisant) and haven't picked up any messages etc. It always says no "traffic information is currently unavailable"
Also is it possible to type in GPS cooordinates when we go to France as we have loads of gps coordinates for places to go in France but don't know how to type them in?
Another thing is when typing in an address how do you get a gap between words ie St Omer.
Loads more questions such as what is the best way to select a route for a large vehicle? Picked fast route and only just got our little corsa up a track which came out into Pontypridd. (local interest there Pontyslapper)Somewhere I will never go again but I experimented. Can you update and get information so the route is suitable for large vehicle as we have a motorhome???
Thanks Hope some of you can help a complete novice

Do you have to download anything to get TMC? - NO, just plug the aeriel in and route it appropriately.
Do you have to select the chanel (classic fm) to hear any traffic management alerts or can you listen to another chanel? - NO, just set the option to Automatically Search.

Also is it possible to type in GPS cooordinates when we go to France as we have loads of gps coordinates for places to go in France but don't know how to type them in? - Can't say I've tried - I had no trouble typing in places when I was in France - you just have to 'tell' the sat nav its France by selecting the french flag.
Another thing is when typing in an address how do you get a gap between words ie St Omer. - There is a space key

Hi Chris, see my edits above. Hope this helps - if not, send me a PM and maybe we could meet up for a little Sat Nav lesson??
I sometimes tell the sat nav to put me along challenging routes - I guess its the awesome power and the 'care not' attitude of driving an old Mondeo estate!! |

Dear Pontyslapper
I too am a relative novice, although this is my second Medion sat-nav. Please can you explain how to change the vehicle to HGV or lorry as I am only able to find 'vehicle', pedestrian, etc.
We have just returned from a trip to Denmark via Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and the Tunnel. The navigation has been top class as we moved from campsites to towns, to petrol stations. However I would very much like to have had the 'girly' Petrol button available as on a competitor's sat-nav. When in foreign parts and covering long distances it would be useful.
I have still to get to grips with the Warner POIs, I did try hard before our trip, but had no success. |

I cant find hgv either only vehicles, bicycles, pedestrians and motorcycles.
I may taske you up on that offer ponty.... if I cant get to grips with this. Too busy in work to have had much time to fiddle with it at present but intend to try again this week
Should I get a larger memory card too? Mine seems to be full when I synchronize maps from poiwarner. Dont know what the heck I am doing really. Will be travelleing around france for 5 weeks soon so need french info as priority and possibly germany too etc.

was told if as I had purchased Aldi Model 199.00 it aslo includes LATEST POIWarner and Navigation.de ALL PAYED FOR. just have to reg user name in sync reg boxes.
you can move the "tap square" by opening menu just above it or re-cal you screen setting.
in POIWarner GoPal Edition you can download add or remove or update and create own POI's |
