How do you recomend to upgrade my maps

Right currently have version 8 europe nt on the sd card in my c310, I have ordered the free version 9 upgrade dvd from the garmin website, when it arrives do I have to install it to my origonal 256 sd card or can I buy a bigger blank sd card and install it to that?

Thanks Andy, do I need to format the new card at all or is it done automaticly as the maps are being loaded?, sorry but I'm new to this.
