I have ordered a Zumo and have since noticed that Topo Maps are available on SD Cards. Does anyone know if these can be used with the Zumo??
Thing is, I would like to use the Zumo to navigate (for example) to somewhere deep in the Lake District, and then swap maps and use the "off road" facility of the Zumo to navigate on foot around the fells with the aid of the topographical maps. I think OS do ordnance survey maps on SD cards too.
I realise the dangers of someone expressing only half-knowledge, but here goes!! I can think of three possible solutions.
1. Garmin sell topographical maps of the UK on CD ROM and SD cards. The compatibility page indicates that they should work on the Zumo.
2. You might be able to load a topo map from a third party system.
3. You could try this... and report back ;) Use MapSource to plot points along the trail you want to ride. Download them to the Zumo. When you are about to follow the trail, set the Zumo's preference to "Off road".
