I've not had a problem with / in Fords with heated windscreens. There's a difference between heated windscreens, though, and the athermic windscreens that tend to get fitted to french cars.


the focus has anthermic(?) windscreen as well as heated - if you look at it with polarised sunglasses on it you can see a purple haze. the fiesta doesn't and tends to get a better gps signal - i put it down to what i shall now call "The Hendrix Effect"

What age of Focus are we talking about? The latest model, or the original or facelift models?

The original or facelift models I'm pretty sure don't use athermic windscreens, merely some have the optional heated windscreens. Don't know about the current model (joint venture with Volvo and the S40 platform - and Mazda for that matter, too).

Well just did some more miles on 2.70 in map mode and i've been keeping a careful eye on it in the same places i had massive lag with 3.x firmware. 2.70 still lags in the same places but nowhere near as badly as 3.x. I suspect that the lag is so slight or corrected so quickly i never noticed with 2.7 before.
