I have a TT One and travel the M25 daily.

If I have to come off the M25 due to traffic it always tries to get me to re join it via a junction that has been closed from months due to roadworks, and as it is not due to reopen until the end of the year, is there any way to mark this slip road as closed so when it calculates the route it avoids it?

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Neil

Unfortunately not. If you want to avoid a road it avoids all of that road.

It's difficult to give an alternative. The other method is to use Avoid Roadblock as you approach the slip road.

However this is a problem in some cases as that may not be the best way to get to the next junction.

Sadly this was a feature available in earlier versions of Navigator on the PocketPC. You could draw a box over a junction or area and route calculations would then never use that area. A shame as it could be very handy.

I've been rather shocked by the amount of road closures that don't crop up if you subscribe to traffic. I had a nightmare trip back from london recently which showed up congestion confirmed by the 5Live traffic news so navigated around it to be fed to a point where a slip road with obvious signs of long term closure were staring me in the face. I ended up travelling back south looking at a line of traffic to the right which I was about to join the back of. The very same line I'd navigated around. Using the 'avoid roadblock' function routed me back to my starting point 5 miles back! Managed to dodge across country using the compass for guidance but seemed daft as the software should really have known.

I suppose the service is only as good as the data it is fed but you'd think contractors would be obliged to register road closures with some kind of CENTRAL database that Tom Tom could share.

I know your query wasn't related to TT traffic so i suppose what I'm saying here is it might not help even if you parted with your cash!
