Loading speed cameras onto Garmin C510

I have just bought a Garmin C510 and am having problems loading the CSV and Bitmap camera files for individual cameras. I am using POI loader. When it tries to save the files, a message appears on the screen stating
There was an error copying the data to the data card. The device is not ready.

This was a surprise as the device is viewable in My computer. I also thought I was saving it to the garmin unit not the card. I tried putting the card into the unit but got the same message
