How does everyone get on with add on transmittors?
They are not too bad, however the low power of the device means they can suffer bleed through from normal FM radio stations, this can alter as you travel across the country, requiring you to re-tune the output of the transmitter and the radio frequency your car unit is tuned to.

There are other options, my favorite is the FM Injection unit which doesn't suffer from the same problems of a transmitter, it is harder to install though. Have a read through my post in This Thread which looks at a number of options for getting the audio from the nav unit into the car system - Mike

Quick question regarding the 310 on Amazon.

Does it include EU maps on DVD ?

Off to France in the summer - I'd just need a bigger memory card ?

There are so many on places like Amazon you will have to check the spec yourself. Usually the 310 is single region (read UK for here).

It's about £60 for a card with France. Garmin don't supply anything on DVD for the nuvi range - you can buy the Europe V9 NT DVD and pay to unlock region(s) you need - but it is probably cheaper to buy a full Europe unit to start with.
