Nuvi 610T, speed camera database

My free three month trial of the speed camera database from Garmin which came with the unit is about to expire. Have been offered a yearly membership at £39!! Can I remove all the presently loaded data and then subscribe to the pocketGPS world database? My son has the 310 and would like to do the same.

You don't need to remove it - you can simply disable it from the tools menu.

Click on the Speed cameras link (left side of this page - in members area).

You can opt for a £2 (for one month) or £19 (for whole year) and this allows you unlimited downloads of the Safety Camera database during your membership period. The databases are updated at least monthly and often more regularly. The fee is actually a membership fee and includes other benefits than the speed camera database (but the database is the most popular)

You simply select make and model of your GPS and get the download. Once unzipped there is a help facility (also available from the members area) to assist you with the installation process - which is straight forward.

You won't regret it - it's a very good database for the UK.

To turn off the Garmin Safety Cameras go toSettings\proximity points\Change. Then uncheck the box next to Garmin Safety Cameras
