Just for a quick reply - try doing a reset with a paperclip. If you used TT Home to do the backup it often means you have to do a reset on first restart.
Best idea is to also do a full backup using Windows Explorer - make sure it shows ALL files and extensions, then copy the whole thing to a folder on your computer. (Sorry if that's eggs and grandmothers). _________________ Dennis

Take it back to Comet. Under the Sale of Goods Act they are bound to replace or refund you on this item. Do not be fobbed off by any suggestion that you need to contact TomTom yourself. Your contract is with Comet.
Just type in "the sale of goods act" into a search engine and check the results. I should also print out anything relevant statement and take it with you to Comet as all these places tend to try it on. Also take your receipt. 8) |

Thanks for help!! i found the reset button, and was so pleased it came on straight away. Not sure why i didnt think of that. I had to do it severlal times on the Classic one i have, but i really thought i had damaged it somehow when i did the back-up. Have used it for work today and it is working fine, thanks again. |

Last year, I took my first one back for exchange. The guy said to do reset, but I refused - I said I'm not having something which needs a reset when it's brand new! Since which I've found that reset is almost "normal". I don't think it should be, but it seems almost everybody has to do it regularly. _________________ Dennis
