Charging Time for 510?

I have just purchased a charger from Maplin (5v 2500ma) for £9.99.

Its identical to this one except its not the camera version so it has different varying power tips(maplin code L69BQ)

It charges my TomTom 510 fine but my question is...

Would it be safe to leave it charging for long lengths of time, say overnight
eg) if I forgot about it?

or

is it highly recommended to switch it off after 2hours or so?

also, can anyone tell me if the battery status icon always say "charging" or does the word "charging" dissapear when its fully charged?
