|
|
Just an observation.
Just updated TT1v1 to 6.560.
Firmware flashed - never had that before on previous updates.
Then prompted to download GPSQuickFix.
Having restarted the device it refused to obtain a GPS position, instead reported 'poor GPS signal'. And this was from a location that has never previously had a problem.
It was only when I took the unit outside did it finally get a signal - and that took 10 minutes !
Hopefully not a retrograde update. _________________ Satnav:

not sure but i think any firmware upgrade will probably need a new almanac so a first sat lock will be quite long....are there any tech peeps who can confirm this?.. _________________ *************************** |

First sat lock is allways the longest.
Try being outside before turning on it should then pick up stright away |

Thanks
Just been out and turned it on again and it is now much quicker.
Just treat my first ramblings as a FYI.
Whilst I was out there I just shortened the cable with cutters and applied shrink wrap. Worked quite well, didn't fancy opening the cigar lighter adapter. _________________ Satnav:

I had to uninstall this upgrade as my One restarts every time I turn it off. |

Just had exactly the same problem, and reinstalled previous version. Quickfix didn't seem any quicker anyway. |

I'm going to revert back to my original post.
I am finding that when switching the unit on after a period of about 24hrs+ it is taking longer to get the first 'fix'.
I just think that the sat chipset is not as sensitive as it was.
I used to get a fix in about 20secs, now it is taking about a minute+. Once it has the fix though it works just as before. _________________ Satnav:
