In MM3 & 4 you can merge maps (mmi) together if you want to work across map boundaries. However it does not appear to merge the elevation data (qed). This means that the elevation data is loaded from one of the original maps but no data elevation data is present from the other. If you manually load the elevation data from the second, it replaces that from the first rather than adding to it.

Does anyone know how you can work with elevation data across map boundaries?

Also am not sure if the information files (mmi) files merge so that in a merged amp you can search on data from the second map.
