2003 Vauxhall Vectra 'C' 2.2 SRI
No heat refelective windscreen, but large sun strip
IPAQ 2210
SysOnChip CFplus GPS
No problems at all, even with the Ipaq lying on the front seat I can get a sat nav fix of 4, if the front seat passenger holds it in their hands, then sat fix of 6+.
I think its alot to do with the GPS receiver though, Ive heard glowing reports about the SysonChip and the ability of it picking up a good sat nav fix.
That's why i brought one |

Peugeot 406 03reg
Snooper S6-R - NO signal when receiver is in the front, great in the back.
TomTom3 Wired GPS - Perfect signal from the front.
I guess the level of signal has a lot to do with the quality of the receiver. What does this say about the Snooper's receiver? |

Citroen C4 VTR+ 2005 is OK.
VW Touran SE 2004 is OK.
VW Golf MKIV 2001 is OK.
All of these vehicles regularly get 7-10 sats. HP 5450 + PPC2002 + TTN2 + TT BT receiver. |

2004 Ford Mondeo with heated windscreen
TTN3.07 on a Mio168 with a central windscreen mount.
I would say reception is very good - usually 8-9 fixes; has been upto 12 on occasion.
I did get an external antenna bundled with the Mio, but haven't needed to use it. |

Ford Focus
Heated front screen
Navman ICN 510
Place the Navman as far right as you can (rh drive!)
The antenna will then be outside the heating filaments.
Best count of 48! Fantastic reception, no problems. _________________ Regards, Coxy.

1997 VW Polo - No Heated front screen.
Medion MDPNA100 mounted on flexi-arm from windscreen so that it is just behind the steering wheel, above the headlight switch, right next to the speaker on the dash.
No problems at all - got 11 sats in France last Friday!! Almost always 8+, lowest so far has been 5. |
