Hi, Hopefully someone can help with this problem. I got in my car today and noticed that my phone hadn't automatically connected to my Nuvi. I thought it was the phone at first but then noticed that the Bluetooth icon was missing from the Nuvi's screen. I went into settings and Bluetooth was disabled. I tried Enabling it but the unit just hung with the message 'Enabling Bluetooth'. It does the same if I try to Disable it too. I tried a reset as well as just turning it on and off but to no avail. I then re-installed the latest software via the Garmin Web Updater and still no joy. Any ideas?? It was working fine.
Thanks in advance. |

For anyone who has experienced the same problem I've managed to fix it - all be it through a bit of guess work.
I navigated to the Garmin folder using 'My Computer' with the Nuvi connected to the PC. I then removed the GUPDATE.GCD file and placed it on my Desktop in case my idea didn't work. I then started WebUpdater which reported the software already up to date. So I clicked on re-install existing software which placed a new copy of the GCD file in the Garmin folder. Then I ejected the Nuvi from the PC but unfortunately the Bluetooth still didn't work so I re-started th unit.
When I turned it on the Nuvi tried to update the Bluetooth Firmware (good) but froze on 48% (bad). I pressed the reset button on the back of the unit and turned the Nuvi back on. This time the Bluetooth Firmware updated no problem and I was able to Enable Bluetooth and re-connect my phone.
Thank F***k! |

Hi
This realy helped me out.
I bought one of these units recently and downloaded the Webupdater software and run it. It reported there was a software update version 2.07 and vehicle icons. So updated it using webupdater.Result maps had disapeared off unit . I returned the unit to retailer who replaced it. :D This time i backed up the software(always a good idea !) a few hours later the buetoothe packed up following the batery going flat . i Guessed this was a firmware problem No amount of reseting resolved the issue.I then read this post and tried to update software on new unit (risky would i lose the maps again?) webupdater would not let me download it so I downloaded it manualy and installed it. YES bluetoothe was restored :D . OH NO no maps!
Next step recopy the maps from back up YES all is well and my new Nuvi works great :D exept that the British voice file is corrupted and does not work, the backup file is also corrupted can anyone who can help with this? _________________ Thanks Colin |

Colin does the webupdater give you the option to re-install existing software? |
