Lutz has changed the download code and the phone numbers in the TomTom files will not have the + sign in them any more

Forgive what may be a stupid question then but does this now mean that when we submit a new poin with a pnone number we can just give it using the standard std code eg 01745?

Please continue to submit phone numbers in the +441234123456 format as they are stored in the database in that form. When the phone numbers are formatted for the TomTom download files the + sign is removed.
And a general plea from me When submitting a new POI, eg Shopping and Tesco, please provide some appropriate text in the Title box rather than repeating the subcategory name again.

Thanks Mike. Is Richard or whoever, going to change all telephone numbers, as suggested by yourself, for all the POIs in the current databases? |

The easiest way to edit an ov2 for correcting names is to convert to txt then copy and paste to excel and use find and replace or run a vb makro to filter or replace what you want. |

You do not have to convert, You can edit and rename entries in ov2 format in poiedit. |

Or if its in .txt format you can do a search and replace in wordpad. |

I'd rather let the pc do the work and not modify hundreds of entries manually one by one |

I agree,I did realise after posting that poiedit is more suitable for changing individual entries and that wordpad method is good for multiple entries in text format, I did change a listing of over 200 telephone entries in wordpad by just chaging the space01 and space02 to the required format and it worked very well and quickly.
also admit some people have different formats and different ways. |

So very true its what you get used to i suppose, i used to write alot of makro's for the excel workbooks at old job and found it easier this way although i do know there will be other ways maybe even easier but you can't teach an old dog new tricks |
