Navman N series - customising Speed setting in software

Having also spent over an hour with the 'search button' I find that although this topic has been discussed, it does not appear to have been asked 'directly' to you advanced guys.

(I have also spoken to Navman tech support with no success*)

AND, as far as I can see, it certainly has not been answered anywhere so

... Is it possible to alter the speed setting in the Navman other than by 'road type' preferences, so that the average speed of the vehicle used in the route calculation can be changed.

I reckon this might suit several user groups - touring cyclists, towing vehicles, caravanners, motorhome drivers, hgv drivers to name but a few and of course those of us who do always travel at the max speed limit.

I presume that it would need some sort of tweek to the software settings and that for most of us (novices) it would be both complicated and daunting but that still doesn't answer the question of whether it is possible and could someone on this forum do it - would it be legal etc. There are files/programmes in existence which can be added to give extra functions to the unit (screen capture for instance) and this would suggest that it is possible.. so any comments from the 'boffins' Wink

would be received with interest. Thanks in anticipation.

*Navman tell me its not currently possible and that there are no current plans to implement this function
