Is there any way to switch a 910 off via the software rather than pressing the button - in the same way that you can exit the application on a PDA

there is a (rather crude) way of doing this. You need to create a CAP file that calls a shell program, namely /sbin/poweroff . It will also reboot after you switch the device on again (did I mention it is rather crude?).

Ah, thanks. I didn't realise that you could get anywhere near Linux on this thing.
