I have a Go700 and have been running v6. I had a problem and went back to my backup which was v5. I have installed Home but it says that cannont find any new updates. I click th 'Login' button within Home and get an error message saying 'i do not have the component to use this feature'.

I have reqistered product code with tomtom. Is there a way i can change my login email address when using the Home login? Could that be the problem? When i log into tomtom website and click 'my tomtom' under the 'select my device' button i can see a message saying 'no services available' and if i click the 'select my device' button all get is an 'page cannot be displayed' message.

About had enough of this!!

Sorry, I'm no expert. The only thing I can think of is to re-install Home and try again (delete it thoroughly first). Download from TT site here ...
http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=1&FID=5327

Failing which, contact Tom Tom when they get back from their holidays. Phone 0845 161 0009 should be quicker than the support e-mail system, but there'll probably be a lot of Christmas prezzie worried folk, so be ready to persevere.

The current App version for GO700 is 6.520.

Mark,

What router do you have? Is it a BT2100?

Personally, I'd copy all the 'extras' to a PC folder and try to get a bare system working.

There might be something of use here:
v5.440 OR 6.520

Try v5.440 or if you feel lucky Smile go for v6.520
Read the install instructions first ( A Read Me txt file is in the zip file you download )

I trust you still have a back up.
I recommend moving all the clutter out for the time being.
You can copy it back later.....

Looks like RQ has got the answer.
markpenniston wait for him to respond as he obviously knows the problem. This is what came up in another thread.
Quote:
I have been checking on various forums & i think we may have come up with a answer to this connection problem ie:- BT 2100 router versus the tom tom servers.

http://www.yournav.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7922&st=40

This is what i have done to resolve the problem.

This a detailed list for those that don`t like tinkering -

Go into the BT Voyager Configuration Manager (http://voyager.home/main.html)
Click advanced - then local network - you will then need your username & password this will be set to admin for both unless you have set your own.
Check the local network configuration - check the MTU is set at the default setting of 1500. if so leave alone
Click internet - This shows the internet configuration on this page you will see MTU setting this also wants to be set at 1500 - ( MINE WAS 1400)
Press edit on this page leave all other settings as was just change the MTU to 1500 default once done you will need to re-boot the router.
Then bingo you should be able to connect to the tom tom server i hope.

I hope it works for everyone else that as been pulling their hair out.

Cheers - Malcolm.

But do wait to see what RQ has to say first.

Will do many thanks.

I have had a look at my Voyager 2100 and it is already set at 1500 MTU.

Forgot to add :-

I spoke to Tomtom. She was very helpful but ran out of ideas. She asked me to uninstall and reinstall Home. I told her i had done that about 5 times. I then thought about the Registry files it leaves in Windows. I found a program and deleted all not needed. When i reinstalled home it said under the more tab My Go700 but the unit was not connected. How can that be when it is a new install???

It'll save last configuration which would be your unit.
Mine does this for my 710 when not connected.
If I then plug in my 300 then disconnect it, it says 300 under More
Nothing sinister...just a system/log file doing it's thing.....

I don't suppose you have a Restore point to go back to without losing vital data ( not TT related, I mean emails, documents, etc.. ).

Also, have you cleared your PC cache, cookies, temp internet files, etc...
Could be reloading the same 'duff' page over & over, try F5 refresh...

I've lost track of the original problem!
Do you just want to get back to v6.52 software?

If so, just download it from: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/oldboy/TomTomUpdates/index.html and install it manually (as Hirvevarra suggested 7 posts back).
