Hello,

I have a new TomTom One and I've reformatted the SD card provided with the product, reinstalled the software and now the TomTom doesn't start. TomTom Home finds all the software and all the files are definitely present on the SD card. However, the TomTom refuses to start and shows the 'invalid card' (or whatever it is) icon.

I've tried formatting the card in both fat32 and fat, and nothing appears to work. I'm not using a card reader (as I don't have one), and there has been suggestion that you can not reformat a card through the TomTom.

Does anyone have any tips? Is there a way to not only reformat the card, but recreate the original card partitions, etc.? Computer Management in Windows is showing one 'healthy' partition...

Well the answer was to remove the partitions on the card and let Windows recreate one when you format. Restored software and now it works fine. Oddly enough, Windows hasn't created a clean partition that my Linux box can read.

Surely reformatting clears partitions anyway & reloading the backup will create any that are needed.

Maybe you're trying too hard?
