XDA2 Com connection to Globalsat BR-355

Hi Guys.

I have an XDA2 and am trying to get the Globalsat G-Mouse Br355 to work with it. I have the unit connected and have the manufacturers software on the XDA. When I scan the com ports no data is given unless I click the cold start button when on any given COM it just says

$PSRF
....OK

Does anyone have ideas. When I bought this thing it says just set the Baud rate to 4800 and select COM1.
