v5 Australian map upgrade

Did TT ever get around to releasing the new Australian maps which work on v5? It's hard to find any useful information on their site.

I just got back from a trip around Tasmania and was amazed at how pathetic the v5 maps were. Half the time I was better off not using GPS at all.

Hi I'm a Brit now living in Australia, I converted my medion 96800 to run TomTom5 that I bought from Aldi just before I emmigrated in June this year. (thanks to this forum).

its been great with the exception that in Sydney CBD the height of the buildings up the reception & it gets confused easily. Not a problem when your on foot, but in a car its a nightmare. and the map is out of date, many one way streets are not listed as such on the map.

so I called TomTom Australia only to be told that the TT5 map version 568 is the last one and that TT5 is no longer supported, and that I should purchase the latest TT6 map and they would give me the software free.

Unfortunately the medion won't run TT6 so I bought a new Mio P350 ( without satnav software) for $290 (£116) and it works fine with TT6, the new motorways are on it and the one way streets are more up to date.
