ICN 530 speed camera databse problem

Hi, I've had the 530 for a while. Just tried to get the speed camera database loaded. Did everything as suggested in the articles. Read and tried everything in the manual.

When I use the smartstart software, I can see the database loaded on to the 530. I made sure I ticked the active box when I loaded it...... but I still can't see the database on the 530.

Please help. Any ideas? I hope I am not being a complete numbti!

Hi Scaley,

This may or may not be the answer to your problem :

There is a "known" issue with the Icon images that are included with the Navman database version.

It is to do with the file sizes that come with the database -
They are all 8 Bit / 256 colour images and 1.47 kb.
Some ( if not all ) Navman's cannot handle Icons of this size, and either do not display them at all, or display them distorted and unrecognisable !

Earlier releases of the database had Icon files that were 4 bit / 16 colour and only 382 bytes in size, which DO work :D

If you have a graphics program try resizing the Icon files as above then reload them and see if this cures the problem.

If you don't have a graphics program send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will Mail you a set of the Icons - ( Same applies to anyone else that needs them 8) ).

This "Known" problem has been brought to the attention of GPS World staff in the hope that the next release of the databse will address this issue.
