Having problems accessing a full postcode search with my TT Go. Details follow: My steps and versions were as follows:
Bought TTG Jan 2005
Was running Map 390 (100.8 mb) and software version 5.42
Following "Navigate to:" then arrow to second screen, postcode only produced a 4 digit search, i.e. xxx.x then reverted to a street search with that code.
To help this, I downloaded a full post code search by Region, i.e. Nw, NE., etc, which worked OK but access was from POI and the full code only appeared when you were very close to it.
I then upgraded the software using your link and successfully installed ver 6.520. However, when following "Nav to" and arrow as usual the second screen only presented "point on Map" and "Lattitude Longitude." All the previous icons, Postcode, etc.,, had gone! I removed the Regional postcodes using TomTom Home without any change.
Today I restored the backup from 5.42, which was the same as before and reinstalled 6.52 direct from TT and I still do not get the full postcode icon or search.
You can of course get a 4 digit postcode search through Address but that is not what I want.
I can send a screenshot if anyone gives me their email address. Thanks

HO HO. THE TT INSTRUCTION MANUAL IS INCORRECT! SHOULD HAVE REALISED.
Anyway, 2 valid points:
1. Install without using TomTom Home. It it up. Just connect and install via explorer.
2. Find the poostcode search where it always was - under Navigate to/address, but now the earlier 4 digit search has widenened to a full 7 digit.
Hope this is of some help (It was to me.) 8)
Can anyone now advise whether the upgrade to the new UK map from ver 390 is worth it?
