Hi All,

Just bought the complete Map of Western Europe for my Go 300. As this is a rather large download I would like to back it up to DVD so that I don't need to do it again.

Is this possible/allowed?

If so how do I go about it?

And if I reformat my PC in the near future will I be able to reinstall the maps etc from the backup dvd using TT Home?

Many thanks
Mark

Have tried seaching the forums but couldn't find anything pertaining to dvd backups.

Yes, you are allowed to create a backup on DVD, or just keep a copy on you hard disk.

There is no specific DVD backup procedure required for the maps. Just burn a DVD in whatever way you normally do. If you run XP on your PC then you should be able to do it from Windows Explorer. If you have a previous version of Windows then you will probably have to use the software that came with your DVD writer.

I've just done the same with my TTOne. I bought the western Europe map for my one. Once bought you download it thru 'Home'. This will store it on your HDD. You can then either backup the downloaded file or let Home uncompress it, install it on your device, and then backup your device.

TomTom will let you redownload your bought map for a whole year, if you lose your backup say.

Mick

BTW: For the cost of 55 notes its well worth it IMO.
