Garmin Disappointment (i3)

Most disappointed with Garmin.

A colleague at work's StreetPilot i3 had the old v.7 maps on it when he bought it a few months ago. I knew about there being a v.8 upgrade program, and advised him to send it to Garmin in Romsey.

After several phone calls to them, it initially appeared that they had misplaced the microSD card, but said they'd hopefully be able to obilge with updating it although the offer had closed. Finally after 4 weeks they repsonded sayng that a new update would be availble to purchase and download in in the beginning of next year, and the original micorSD was found and returned.

He has put the microSD card back into his StreetPilot i3, and it doesn't work at all (you get the Computer picture and instructions to reload software, etc).

So now he has had to wait 4 weeks for no upgrade, and gets his original micsroSD card non functioning, and will have to wait until the beginning of next year to purchase an upgrade.

unusual for garmin , they are normally first rate with this kind of stuff Wink

xander, your friend needs to go back to Garmin again with this, as he now has a faulty card. Never quit.
