Just found out that the ITN Conv program won't open an .axe file that contains spaces in its name. Gives error message 'Unknown file format'.

EDIT:
Nope...That's not right...It will only open it if you rename the file to something else.

Weird.

I saved it in Autoroute 2007 as 'Santander to Burgos.axe' and then tried to open it in ITN Conv. Got the error message above.

Renamed the file to 'Santander-Burgos.axe' and it opens it up.

Strange one 8O

A lot of Windows naming requires double quotes around the Name string if spaces are included. ;)

Check the Properties of a Desktop Item and look at the Start in: and Target fields.

If you are doing exactly as you describe, i.e. you are not closing AutoRoute or opening another AXE in AutoRoute, then you will get that error. The renaming will get round that. It would appear that ITNConv does not correctly reports that. It should give a "File Locked" or "File already open for editing in another application" error.

[Edit]I've posted a message on the ITNConv blog[/Edit]

Tried it, and what you said is right...I saved the file in Autoroute, then clicked File - New to start a new map.

Then opened the previously saved file in ITN Conv and it opened it.

Cheers.

Oldboy, does your program work like ITN Conv?

Also, whilst planning my route with Google maps initially, I wrote down the names of the roads I was going to use. The format is as follows...

Barrio de los Campos 39470, Piélagos
Barrio de San Roque 39479, Piélagos

This data was copied and pasted from the Google maps output, and put in a text file.

Is there a program that can read these back in and then make an ITN from the result?

I don't mind having to copy and paste each string into the program from my text file.

Autoroute can't find any of the addresses in the format above.

Do you mean POIConverter? If so it's not my program. Credit for that goes to Oldie. ;)

POIConverter picks out all the locations that are in AutoRoute. ITNConv uses only the location that are used in Route Planner and ignores everything else.

AutoRoute can only place a Pushpin, with a Postcode, or an Address or a feature that you can find in the Find Menu.

I don't know of a Program that can read a Free Flow Text File to give Lat/Long co-ordinates.
