Getting Navio to work with my Tomtom GPS

I have searched but couldn't find this topic so pls forgive me if it is covered elsewhere...

I recently purchased Tomtom Nav 6 / Tomtom GPS to run on my iPaq 2490. I just downloaded Navio GPS applic. The latter installed successfully but I can't get Navio to connect with my GPS... and the Navio site doesn't have, as far as I can see, any clues!

Any help gratefully received...
