My TomTom 500 will not turn on. I turned it on and it started acting weird i.e the screen was acting like it's being toached when it was not. But you could not access anything. I switched it off and know it will not switch on. I have done a hard reset a few times but to no avail.

Yelp I've got a buyer for it and he was collecting it tomorrow.

UPDATE: I can get it back to life sometimes by pressing the Hard reset button and the power on button at the same time but as soon as it loads up the screen displays like you are putting pressure on the bottom right hand side of the screen but will not agnolidge your toach in anyway.

have you dropped it?? or has some sort of presuure on one side??

Have you tried removing the SD card and turning it on.. then do a hardret without the SD, then turn off.. put SD card back in and turn on...

That worked for mine on my old 300 when it ever crashed..

No did not drop it or anything I handed to the wife when it was on and working I went downsatairs come back up and she said it froze and since then no joy. It will work fine through tomtom home. I think the toach screen has gone. And at perfectly the wrong time as well.

That's it then, give anything to the woman of the house and it will break, they do not need to do anything at all it just happens. It's a feature of every woman of the house Supreme Angel

Seriously though, it sounds as though it is a problem that tomtom wil have to sort out.

UPDATE - As I said it does not respond to a hard rest but if it needs resetting it seems to respond only if you hold in the power button first and then press the hard reset then it comes to life. It's started to work ok and I can only know see one issue when i'm trying to scroll down items like in the poi catagory window of stuff like that it will only scroll if i use my nail as far as I can get it on that side. If I just press where it shows it selects the item not scrolls. It's like the toach screen needs calibrating ?

Done the power thing the left side still works it's only the far right. If you get your nale or slyles right on the edge it's ok. But it has to be right on the edge. The power thing is what I was trying before.
