HP 9615 Installation failure

Hi All,

I just had my new HP 9615 iPaq PDA. I follwed the instructions to run the pre-installed TomTom Navigate software and have run into a problem.

I started the software, confirmed the internet connection was OK, and it asked me for my location and other set up stuff (left/right hand operation, voice...) which all went OK.

Then, I got to the screen that says No maps found...press NEXT.
The next screen now says "do you want to re-download your free map?"
(Previously it let me select the closest map to my location).
If I say NO...
it shows a discount voucher code and I can't go any further.
If I say YES...
I get the "download now" button. pressing this gets me the following error page...

Error
Internal error: cannot activate:
ac=ERROR, pc=,dc=AAGZWDUR62

Download failed. Contact www.TomTom for further information....

I've tried a hard reset of the device and get to exactly the same point.
I've filled in a support request to TomTom but had no reply. (Yet)
I have a 512 miniSD card installed.
I can download the Quick GPS files without problem.
Everything else on the device seems to work OK.

Can anyone help?

It is a 6915, not 9615.

You need to do as the message told you. Be aware that you can only download ONE free small map. They expect you to BUY the real maps.

I'm posting this for completeness.

I eventually had a reply from TomTom (They don’t work weekends). After half an hour on the ‘phone they reset something on the server side for my installation. This enabled me to start from scratch again, select my free map again and the install went through OK.

All working now BUT the “free” map that comes with the HP1910/6915 series is limited to about a 50 mile radius of the city you choose.
