Mio C510 GPS Data

Hello, I am new to the forum and to Sat Nav systems. Got my C510E this week and it was working fine with good GPS reception.

Following an attempt to update from PC, I now have "no gps signal" according to the Time Settings of the GPS Data screen. However, the green light blinks and the signal strength bars indicate average signal strength, just as they did when the reception was good. The satellite dish icon on the map is red - which is supposed to mean a weak signal.

I re-installed MioMap 3.1 (and reset the device) and still "no signal". The sys.txt file is OK. For Miomap 3.1 it shows:

com_port = 2
com_port_speed = 4800

I have just now upgraded to 3.2 but still "no signal".

I assume that some of the GPS data/settings are lost.

I notice that "miomio" had a similar problem in August (Mio C710 GPS data quality indicator) but in my case there is no red exclamtion mark.

Following on from the above message, the device (Mio C510) is now working. I re-installed 3.1 and, when that did not appear to work, copied across the orginal 3.1 data.zip from the CD. That seems to have fixed it. I'll now get on with the upgrade to 3.2
